MICROSOFT OFFICE LABS 2019

Microsoft has published a video online that shows us how technology may change by 2019. Microsoft developed this video with the help of customers, partners, and thought leaders by showcasing different scenarios, such as, long-term trends, customer challenges, and emerging technologies. This video shows how the future might improve our lives both at home and work. They focused on three technology solutions: natural and intuitive expressions, seamless and secure connections, and contextual and anticipative insights. If you are interested in learning in more detail how these might work, visit the website stated below.

  1. JAKK: Microsoft is a great company, always staying in the trend and having ability to look into the future. The only thing I dislike about Microsoft, they can become costly especially the way family homes are usually ran by one person is thin, super-smart screens dominate this Microsoft future. School kids doodle with their fingertips on giant, glass walls; businessmen cluster around a virtual wall, stickered with digital Post-It notes. It also reminds me of some sci fi shows, or futuristic moves like the Bruce Willis starred in The Fifth Element. “ Oh” yes many such as nurses, doctors, scientist, artist and the average Joe will be having fun with this. Hope its not too expensive.

  2. I have to agree with Stacy on this topic. Microsoft can be a very costly company. And if your version of Microsoft is not compatible with the versions used in today’s school systems then the student may have a problem. I have had this happen to me on many occasions in the past. Scientifically, Microsoft will never stop advancing. They have more ideas than anyone of us can think of. Culturally, we will all need to accept these advances because if we are living in the past, on our home computers. Then our students will have many issues when it comes to writing papers. Artistically, the visual of Microsoft will change. After all, just look at Window’s 7, with that snap feature. This is one company that will never die.

  3. Microsoft as well as the other companies that make up the technology sector forseeing these types of advances doesn't surprise me. They know where they want us to go based on what they want to sell us.

I agree that the problem at some point becomes cost. The products that they produce can't become so expensive that they price themselves out of markets entirely.

Greater connectivity between all things electronic is the direction technology is taking humans and that humans want. We don't want 1/2 dozen devices we want all our devices built into a single device. The same holds true for software.

  4. That video amazed me, but I'm not sure we are going to see even half of that type of technology with that much widespread use by 2019. That video showed what seemed to be an entire office filled with a highly advanced version of touch screen technology, where as many business offices today barely have computers that can be considered up to par with today's technology. It is a great idea that I'm sure we will see eventually, but I think 9 years just isn't long enough for that type of technology to become the 'norm'.
